Meet the Founders of Denver Pub Crawl: Ty Sondag & Logan Lakos

It all begins with an idea.

At Denver Pub Crawl, we believe that it's great people and strong connections that make our crawls so amazing. And behind every bar partner, drink deal, or yellow umbrella is the Denver Pub Crawl duo bringing it all together: Ty Sondag and Logan Lakos. These friends turned a simple passion for connection and exciting nights into one of the most fun Denver nightlife experiences.

Ty, originally from Memphis, Tennessee, moved to Denver after studying at Saint Louis University and has come from a strong entrepreneurial background. His entrepreneurial passion combined with his love of international travel sparked the Denver Pub Crawl experience.

Logan, originally from Austin, Texas, was a military brat and frequently traveled in his youth. Studying at the University of Colorado Boulder, he gained strong communication and sales experiences to apply to Denver Pub Crawl. Combined with his international travels, he loved the international bar crawl experience and was ready to bring that experience local.

The duo met working at an event together when they were tasked to move heavy fenceline. Ty remembers thinking “He hasn’t stopped yet. He hasn’t asked to take any breaks.” This strong connection and impactful work ethic makes Ty and Logan the dream team for Denver Pub Crawl.

While there was never a long term plan for Logan or Ty to start the best bar crawl business in Denver, the pair loved bar crawls from their international travels and started to wonder, “Why don’t we have this in Denver?” 

They started testing this bar crawl concept by telling bars, “Hey, 60 people are about to walk in for a birthday party. Can we get a discount on some drinks?”(It was never for a birthday). Even with no permits, passes, or real business, the pair found their mission was viable and decided to jump right into crawling.

The first official Denver Pub Crawl crawl happened on February 6th, 2020, the perfect time to bring large groups of strangers together, right? While the pair started right before the COVID-19 pandemic, they weren’t discouraged and kept their spirits high. They followed all COVID-19 precautions and were dedicated to maintaining a safe and fun environment no matter the conditions. 

During the pandemic, their bar crawls were not only a fun way to get out of the house, but it kept many businesses open. Their crawls generated money for owners' rents, wages, taxes, and more to keep their business open in those difficult times we all remember. 

Since growing from the pandemic, Denver Pub Crawl has now hosted 1,000 unique bar crawl events and accompanied 11,000 unique individuals from around the world to explore Denver in a new and exciting way. 

Denver Pub Crawl works because of the people behind the scenes and the incredible people that want to attend a crawl with us for the night. 

“It doesn’t matter what’s in your bank account, what your background is, everyone comes to a pub crawl for a good time,” Ty says. “We create that welcoming, inclusive space where everyone’s just there to connect and have fun.”

Logan adds, “Our team is diverse, our crowd is diverse, and the vibe is always incredible. When we’re leading a crawl, it’s like being on an adventure abroad, and we bring that energy every night.”
